Hi! I’m Debbie or some call me Deb. I started this blog in 2010 when my husband and I began our journey with the Lord to serve as missionaries to South Africa, Mozambique and Zimbabwe. We lived in South Africa for three years and returned to the states in August of 2014.
I love the Lord! It is here that I share about His work in my life with the hope that my words would be an encouragement to others. I am very thankful for His saving grace that changed my heart and made me want to live for Him. I also love teaching God’s word, equipping women to faithfully study the Bible and mentoring them as they grow in their relationship with the Lord.
Writing has been a part of my life since I was a little girl. My mom still has my first poem, written in first grade, in which I describe her legs as a hair brush. I must have been mad at her that day! Whether it be an essay or poetry, over fifty years later I continue to put my thoughts to page.
In September of 2016, after much procrastination, I began an on-line biblical counseling program with Reigning Grace Counseling Center. I have always been interested in counseling. Lately, it has been my desire to be better equipped to counsel/mentor/encourage those that God places around me. I seek to grow in the knowledge of God’s word and to apply it first to myself and then to those whose lives are hurting and broken.
My prayer is that God would use my words to encourage you in your own walk with the Lord. If a post has been helpful to you, I would love to hear about it! You can email me at email@example.com.
