A Mind of Stars {A Poem}

One must have a mind of stars

To shine boldly in the darkness

Among millions gleaming.

Named by God

Longing to be first

As dusk arrives-

Hearing a child wish upon

For a cancer to be gone

And the wish becomes reality.

Silence reigns in the radiance

Of the heavenly hosts

Led by Maestro Moon.

Until dawn breaks

And the stars scatter

Without a trace

In wake of the morning sun.

This poem was inspired by a Tweetspeak poetry prompt and a poem written by Wallace Stevens.
