Being a Mission-minded Woman

Crystal had only been a Christian a few years when God began to stir in her heart a desire to do mission work. She first volunteered at a homeless shelter where she helped to feed people and share the gospel as she visited with them. She frequently would meet with new believers and disciple them in God’s word. An opportunity came for Crystal and her husband to be part of a short-term mission team with their church to Mexico. As she and her husband grew older and they went from parents to grandparents, they began financially supporting missionaries and mission organizations that had the same desires as they did. They also kept a prayer calendar and prayed for the many missionaries and organizations they had come in contact with through the years.

Crystal is an example of the mission-minded woman. Through her different seasons in life, she remained focused on missions.

Go, therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

In the next series of posts, using the word “Women” I am going to share how we also can be mission-minded women carrying out the great commission the Lord has given us. It begins with being:
W-willing
 To go, to give or
O-on our knees
To pray
M-making disciples
By establishing new believers in God’s word
E-experiencing His presence
By living a Spirit-filled life
N-nations focused
By making His name known among all the peoples
Some are able to go while others give and still others pray. Some are growing in God’s word themselves while others are helping others to grow in His word.
Where does God have you in this season of life?
Next we will look at “Willing”...
